Strike without hesitation, don't hold back - ANYTHING GOES! No Rules...No Limits...No Quarter... IDS is an new paradigm in martial arts, it is the wave of the future in hand-to-hand combat/ street fighting methodologies. It incorporates both unarmed and armed fighting, standing and ground fighting methods. One of the most important features of the system is that, unlike many traditional martial arts systems, it is continuously evolving. The IDS group periodically updates its hand-to-hand combat techniques. We are constantly evaluating our and other methodologies to add in any elements which would strengthen the system. We are only interested in functionality and performance. IDS uses the best of the best in self- defense and combat methodologies. The program encompasses the hand-to-hand, weapons and empty hand weapons defense components of systems such as Filipino Kali, Pentcak Silat, Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Greco- Roman wrestling, free-style wrestling and American boxing. Principles -Evasion. Whether avoiding the confrontation entirely or the initial blow, the techniques will always have an element that minimizes the danger of you being hit! -Keep it simple. The techniques are simple, natural, instinctive body movements allowing you to employ them immediately. Learn it today use it today! -Use the opponent’s weaknesses. Techniques are designed to inflict maximum damage to your opponent, exploiting the many obvious and not so obvious weak points on the human body. -Not strength reliant. Techniques are designed to minimize your effort, enabling you to work effectively even when at a size, strength or position disadvantage. Minimum effort maximum results! -Use of/ defense against weapons. The system is designed to teach you to effectively use or defend against blunt, edged and improvised weapons. Core Components The system includes the following components: Self Defense: The uses of and defenses against -various types of strikes using hands, elbows and head -various types of kicks and knee strike tactics -ground fighting submission techniques; including grabs, takedowns, chokes, bear hugs, armbars, etc. -defense against multiple attackers Weapons training: -knives -clubs -close quarter handgun defenses Method of Training Belts are assigned based on the performance of the student rather than simply the memorization of techniques. This method has been proven very effective as a tool to train people, it coincides with our philosophy, learn it today use it today. Our practitioners are exposed to the entire core system in the first phase. They learn and train in what would have been reserved as advance material in other more traditionally structured systems. All techniques in the system lead practitioners to three objective options- restraint, incapacitation or termination. By limiting the variety of combat strategies, learning time is accelerated and depth of understanding and skill levels are increased. Our practitioners become adept at quickly reacting to attacks and if necessary improvising to achieve these few points of reference. Once achieved, our practitioners feel very confident and comfortable that, even though the engagement may not be over, it is theirs to win. The IDS program teaches you to use martial arts to defeat stronger, faster and even armed opponents. Learn how to restrain, incapacitate or terminate your opponent fast with intuitive strategies and tactics. IDS doesn't’t employ countless, complicated techniques, but rather easy-to-learn systems enabling you to get confident and capable right away. Self Defense Self defense is the foundation of IDS. Students learn to defend themselves against aggression, to avoid injury, and to quickly overcome their assailant. Defenses address a wide variety of aggressive acts such as sucker punches, kicks, chokes, bearhugs, headlocks, grabs, as well as defenses against multiple assailants and assailants armed with a firearm, edged weapon or blunt object. Students apply the relevant principles and techniques regardless of situation or circumstances, such as dark surroundings; from a sitting or lying position; with limited freedom or movement such as an alleyway or stairwell. Use of hand to hand combat techniques constitutes a more advanced and sophisticated set of skills in latter phases teaching you how to neutralize an opponent quickly and effectively. It embodies elements related to the actual performance of the fight: tactics, feints, powerful combinations of different attacks, the psychological dimensions of the fight, and learning how to use the environment to your advantage. In addition, IDS not only challenges students physically but also mentally. Students develop discipline, drive and the spirit necessary to deal with violent confrontations under high stress. Intense Defense Systems is not merely another school of martial arts based on traditional approaches. It is a modern method characterized by a coherent and logical way of thinking which builds up easy, natural, and practical techniques featuring simple movements of the human body. Training simulates real life situations. It teaches people how to protect themselves, their loved ones and to cope with common street violence. It is designed to be a realistic fighting system. We only teach realistic self-defense skills that are street applicable. Students are exposed to aggressive as well as defensive role playing to simulate encounters and to prepare them to react ethically as well as decisively to real-life aggression. Our curriculum covers verbal defusing tactics, choice speech principles and a host of other behaviorally researched strategies. |
